Vipassana Meditation: Discover a path to find your inner peace

We extend a warm welcome to you as we embark on a journey of self-discovery through the practice of Vipassana meditation. As the General Secretary of iNNER-EYE, I am privileged to share with you the profound impact Vipassana has had on my life and the lives of countless individuals worldwide.

Vipassana, a timeless treasure for humanity, is experienced through a 10-day meditation retreat facilitated by authentic centers established worldwide under the guidance of Mr. Goenka. As the General Secretary, I have had the privilege of attending this course and practicing Vipassana for several years now. The experience has enlightened me to its importance and essence of my Existence. At iNNER-EYE, we are committed to spreading human values and resources that enhance our collective well-being. We believe that Vipassana is among the highest treasures we can offer, as it holds the key to inner peace and a harmonious existence. My gratitude extends to iNNER-EYE for introducing me to this invaluable practice and inspiring my journey.

In our endeavor to share this gift with you, we have organized one-hour meditation sessions at IISc [from Monday – Saturday] and iNNER-EYE [on Sunday]. While these sessions serve as an introduction to Vipassana, we acknowledge that they cannot fully encapsulate the depth of the official 10-day course. Nonetheless, we hope they will ignite a spark within you to explore further and perhaps embark on the official Vipassana journey guided by Vipasanna’s centers.

Please take a moment to explore the following brief introduction:

“Vipassana, which means “to see things as they really are”, is one of India’s most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art of Living. This non-sectarian technique aims for the total eradication of mental impurities and the resultant highest happiness of full liberation. Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.

The scientific laws that operate one’s thoughts, feelings, judgements and sensations become clear. Through direct experience, the nature of how one grows or regresses, how one produces suffering or frees oneself from suffering is understood. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non-delusion, self-control and peace.” My ultimate wish is for all of us, alongside our friends, to lead lives of peace and harmony, embracing all beings.

Warm Regards,

Veeraraahavan
General Secretary
